Take 2: Tubes
On May 2nd, Lulu got her second round of tubes. She's been free of ear infections, which has been great. But, she still has quite a bit of fluid, which isn't so great for hearing. So, seasoned pros that we are - we signed up for a second round.
Like last time Lulu was very brave. While she had questions she wasn't scared or over-nervous. We were scheduled first thing in the morning, which was nice - like her mother Lulu can be grumpy w/ prolonged periods of fasting.
The nurses were very comforting and the admission nurse gave Lulu a special teddy bear. They were a bit behind schedule so we had lots of time to read in the pre-op area. We called Grandma & Grandpa pass the time. All in all we were in good spirits. When it was time to start the procedure, Mommy got to go with Lulu and help her count down until the anesthesia took effect.
It was a quick procedure, and we were all in the recovery room in just minutes it seemed. LB stayed home with Dad in the morning, but couldn't wait to get to visit Sister in the recovery room- we were all glad is was over. Lulu was pretty sick to her stomach on the car ride home and for most of the afternoon. LB does a great rendition of Big Sister puking in the car on the way home - you don't even have to ask - for a while he would just bust into the reenactment spontaneously...Super. BUT, after Grandma's suggestion for the magic Saltine crackers - Lulu felt great and never looked back.
She even went to school on Friday - nervous Mommy stayed home to be on call - but she didn't need it. No mood changes, no changes in energy -nuthin! She was a trooper!
